It's shining, shimmering, splendid!

Ok, so we have to say that the worst plague sweeping the world these days is smartphone addiction.

I’ve honestly never been that fond of technology. In fact, I sometimes despise it. I could care less about the brand, applications or the pixels my camera’s phone has.

Sadly, the previous statement was only applicable right up until Christmas day.

This new contraption that I now hold in my hands has caused my slight affinity for texting to have increased about 80%. Scary.

I think most of us would agree that it is extremely irritating to be talking to someone, and they are just staring at their cell phones or they look anxious to pick it up. I don't want to be those irritating people. And although it has not completely taken over me family has vowed to take extreme measure if they catch any signs of cell phone insanity.

In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy my new contraption for the few remaining days I have left of my vacations. Oh, and I do have to admit it has been really interesting to learn how to add, take off and use different applications.

I was browsing through some articles, and came across this one in particular that caught my eye. Even though it's only been a short period of time that I've used this gadget I was curious to see whether I could relate to any of the signs it said about cell phone addiction.

Top 10 Signs of Cell Phone Addiction

10. You’ve spent more on accessories than on your phone.
9. You have 30 different apps installed. And use them all.
8. You have alarms telling you when to do everything in your life.
7. You read about your phone on your phone.
6. You’ve cut back on necessities to afford your $100 a month cell phone bill.
5. A full battery charge barely lasts the day.
4. You broke it, and it feels like you lost a friend.
3. When you meet people with the same phone, you can only talk about the phone.
2. You feel a brief moment of panic when you touch your pocket (or grope to the bottom of your purse) and it’s gone.
1. You use it in the bathroom.

Number 4 is just SAD! I couldn't help but to really laugh out loud!

Number 1 is simply frightening!

Honestly, up to now I can only relate to 9, and 5. Let's just hope it ends there.

Should I admit I do #1...as I'm doing #1? LOL!!! I can't help it! I am addicted. Mostly to checking email, fb, twitter, and playing games :)

I was like you, could care less before. Unfortunately we've been sucked in ahhhhh! ;)

I don't have one...yet. I have a cell phone, but it's old. I guess I'm delaying the inevitable because I don't want to use a phone more than I have to.

yes that is annoying. i know what you mean. i'm glad most of my friends arent like that but i know a few that just have to check out their phone while hanging out with me or even if i am talking to them on the home phone they have to check out their cell while talking. just sad. i can tell b/c they'll be distant a little and ask me to repeat stuff i said b/c they not paying attention. the worst is when they have to answer their cell calls even while on the house line with me.
