This year most of the 6th graders I had were really awesome. They actually paid attention and participated a lot in class. They really loved me and appreciated my work. They are now off to Middle school, and I'm going to miss them. Yeah, you heard correctly; I will miss them. 
Before the school year ended, the principal asked if I was willing to teach 1st and 2nd grade. I smiled, and exclaimed that I am not closed to the possibility of teaching those grades, but before he said anything else I told him straight out that I honestly believed that 4th, 5th and 6th grade are better suited for me. Surprisingly, he agreed! *phew*
I think you need a lot of patience to teach 6th graders, but I do think you need DOUBLE the patience to teach the little ones in 1st and 2nd grade.
I'm happy where I'm at right now, but I would definitely like to teach the little ones someday.
